After all that he recieved in the hand while standing? After a vision of our Lord on the Cross, he doesn't fall onto his knees in adoration? The point of the video is excellent but the reaction is hugely lacking.

Great video.

Chris, let's assume he received while standing because this was what most of the other communicants did. Kneeling to receive in such circumstances runs the risk of drawing attention to oneself, which is never appropriate.

Jedesto, showing respect to our Eucharistic Lord is always appropriate and if it "draws attention"... wonderful!

St. Joseph was the first one to receive Communion in his hands and now we can too. Do not let these things separate us.

My dear friends and brothers/sisters, I am glad to see that you are interested in the proper reception of the Eucharist. We can't be too careful to receive the Eucharist often and with all reverence, expressed both internally and with the heart. I think that we must not be to quick to judge dispositions of people, especially when they take an option in receiving communion that our Holy Mother, the Church, has graciously allowed. It may well be that she allows it only as a doting mother, hoping that her children come eventually toward receiving on the tongue. I don't know. But I do know that I would be thrilled to have half of the contrition that the young man in this video shows when he goes up to receive Holy Communion. I congratulate those who put together the video for making a truly moving example of how we should respond, and I pray that God softens my heart to respond more as he does.

How does kneeling draw attention to yourself? I certainly don't stare at people as they recieve the Blessed Sacrament.

jedesto: Jesus drew attention to himself.

Wait, wait: you think that a guy who was just a second ago betting his brother he could be louder for a $1 --- you think this guy will be caught up in the kneeling vs standing conundrum? He approached the Eucharist with respect the way he was taught. Maybe after a while he'll make the same realization you apparently have, but don't expect that right after such a vision - and don't expect those making the video to have come to that realization. Learn prudence and patience, my friend. This is a really great and powerful video; thanks to those who made it!

to many of the combox: Thank you for showing that the Pharisee movement is alive and well.

As for the video: Bravo! Amen!!

It was right to receive Holy Communion on the tongue and kneeling before Vatican II so the question is why was it changed? Check out Father Luigi Villa's books and magazines at Our Lady of Good Success website for more information.

Dolorosa, there is precedence in the Church's rich history for standing and receiving on the hand, too. Both are licit and respectful means of reception, and the movie showed one of these licit, respectful ways and added in a superb interior disposition, to boot. Great job, filmmakers! I think Matthew Kennel commented well in an earlier post. Not to say that it doesn't matter what you do with your body as long as your interior disposition is correct - no! But as long as the Church approves the disposition of our bodies, let us focus on the disposition of our minds and hearts.
