7 habits of Dating

I don't remember where I found this, but it is good. Of course, #2 and #3 aren't absolutes, but just good advice.

Seven Habits of Highly Effective Dating
1. God must be the Center of the relationship
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. - Matthew 6:33

2. Dating someone with a belief in Christ
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness. - II Corinthians 6:14

3. Be Friends first
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another. - Romans 12:10

4. Do not isolate yourselves from friends or family.
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. - Galatians 5:13

5. Don’t forget to think about the FUTURE
Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom for the future. - Proverbs 19:20

6. Don’t date someone who takes advantage of you or uses you
You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men. - I Corinthians 7:23

7. Don’t mistake a physical relationship for love
For this is the will, your sanctification: that you should abstain form sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor; not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God. - I Thessalonians 4:3-5

Check it out

Trust me on this one. You need to be educated in this area, even if it is not fun or pretty to do so. I will not give you details as to what it is about, but just rest assured that we should all be aware of the gravity of the problem facing our Church and society.

Take a chance...

Prayer for Finals

For all of you taking finals, I offer this prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas (Patron of students). God Bless you all.

Ineffable Creator, Who out of the treasures of Thy wisdom has appointed three hierarchies of Angels and set them in admirable order high above the heavens and hast disposed the divers portions of the universe in such marvellous array, Thou Who art called the True Source of Light and supereminent Principle of Wisdom, be pleased to cast a beam of Thy radiance upon the darkness of my mind and dispel from me the double darkness of sin and ignorance in which I have been born.

Thou Who makest eloquent the tongues of little children, fashion my words and pour upon my lips the grace of Thy benediction. Grant me penetration to understand, capacity to retain, method and facility in study, subtlety in interpretation and abundant grace of expression.

Order the beginning, direct the progress and perfect the achievement of my work, Thou Who art true God and true Man and livest and reignest for ever and ever. Amen.
